Reply with quote | #1 | By now, I'm sure most of us read the source stating that the Jazz have talked deals with the Bulls, Mavs, Heat and Pistons. I do not see Boozer being a Mav, so I'm hoping for a 3-way deal involving the Pistons. Jazz trade: Boozer/Korver (or CJ Miles) Jazz receive: JHo/Buckner
Pistons trade: RIP/K.Brown Pistons receive: Boozer/Carroll
Dallas trade: JHo/Buck/Carroll Dallas receive: RIP/K.Brown/Korver (or CJ Miles)
I have the Pistons taking on Carroll's 4 yr contract since the Mavs are taking on RIP's 4 yr contract. I see the Pistons willing to let RIP go since Ben Gordon's arrival. Pistons shouldn't hesitate getting rid of K.Brown since Boozer is coming to town. Starters: Stuckey/Gordon/Prince/Villanueva/Boozer
Jazz's goal is to cut costs, so Buckner's contract becomes very attractive and I see that value as being either Korver or CJ Miles. Jazz wants to trade Boozer and let Millsap grow. JHo replaces either Korver or CJ Miles. Starters: D.Williams/JHo/AK47/Millsap/Okur
Dallas trades JHo for multiple rotation players. Gets a true SG and a backup C as security if/when Damp gets traded. Starters: Kidd/RIP/Marion/Dirk/Gooden Mavs full roster: Kidd/JJB/RoBo RIP/Jet/Korver (or CJ Miles) Marion/Q.Ross/Tim Thomas/S.Williams Dirk/Singleton?/Hump/Jawai Gooden/Damp/K.Brown
Then trade S.Williams/Hump/Jawai for Jared Jeffries __________________ ''Nowitzki'' is a German word that, translated, means, ''Good Lord, doesn't this guy ever miss?''

Reply with quote | #2 | I like the premise of your trade. The thing is I am not sure Rip Hamiltion is a huge upgrade over what we already have. He is taller than Jet, but he is also signed to a big long term contract. Is he going to be worth 12 million a year in 2 seasons? The Mavs have been pretty consistent in their unwillingness to add big salaries that run past next season unless it is for a true superstar. I am fairly sure Hamiltion wouldn't meet that litmus test. Personally, I would love to have Rip but not sure I would want it at the cost of Josh. It's a tough question. Rip is a lot more expensive than Josh, is older, and has a longer contract. Not the right mix based on the way the Mavs are playing their cards right now. Not sure if Boozer fits the criteria either which is why the idea that the Mavs being involved in a three way makes some sense. What other team out there would want Boozer, could send Dallas something they value enough to give up Josh for, and wants Josh instead of Boozer as their exchange for that hypothetical player. Honestly, I am having trouble finding the deal that makes sense there unless the Mavs are genuinely interested in adding Boozer to this team directly instead of as part of a three way. The Mavs have alluded that they have something in mind for the Buck Shot than Sessions. David Lord has said he was having trouble finding the player they might have in mind. Could it be as simple as we can get Boozer because we can offer financial relief and Boozer is as good in the pivot as anything else we will play there and is a genuine post scorer? A lot to think about for sure.
Peace to all,
